The Big Green Easy

By on January 10th, 2012

Next week, my co-author Dr. Joe Webb and I will be in New Orleans for Kodak’s GUA Conference (stay tuned to Dr. Joe’s blog and the WTT Mother Ship for updates). Coincidentally, this morning I happened to come across a story over at GreenBiz about “The Greener Side of New Orleans.” Green hotels abound, and various venues offer looks at the local ecosystem, with particular emphasis on the effects of Hurricane Katrina. With luck, I can escape my handlers and explore. (I was in NOLA last October and although the Audobon Insectarium was a block away from the hotel I was staying at, I did not get the opportunity to investigate.) The Global Wildlife Center in nearby Folsom, Louisiana, sounds of particular interest. (Yes, I know, Bourbon Street is the “wildlife” most people go to NOLA for, but it’s not really my style.)

The south out of all places should be the greenest. They lose the most trees!
